Good morning ZM Families,
I apologize for the late notice as I understand the importance of letting you know as early as possible. I just returned from checking road conditions, and roads are extremely icy this morning. I’ve also been informed that a snowplow is currently in the ditch near Mazeppa. Out of an abundance of caution, ZM Schools will operate on a 2-hour late start today.
Cougar Care and Bright Beginnings will open at 7:00 AM, and there will be no AM preschool.
Please take extra care if you’re heading out this morning.

Good morning, ZM families.
Due to current weather conditions and unsafe travel, there will be no school today; Wednesday, December 10th. Cougar Care and Bright Beginnings will open at 7am today and close at 4pm. There is no preschool today and all Community Education classes are canceled.
I understand the need for many of you to plan accordingly for childcare or work, thus, I wanted to get this information out to you as soon as possible. Our Transportation Manager from Palmer and I were out driving the country roads early this morning near both Zumbrota and Mazeppa. At that time, visibility was extremely poor as you could not see the center stripe on the road or where the road ends and the ditch begins on paved roads. “At best,” today would have started with a two-hour delay. However, with a scheduled early release already planned, the instructional value would be minimal.
All other updates, delays, or cancellations affiliated with the school will be posted to the ZM website and Facebook page. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Please stay safe and warm — we look forward to seeing everyone soon!

Yesterday we were lucky to have the Minnesota Wild representatives visit us for a special assembly. Natalie Darwitz, Stephane Veilleux, MC Rusty, and Nordy discussed nutrition and being active. As well as having a shootout game! Our students were very respectful and had a great time. The wild also donated floor hockey equipment for us to use! Thank you Minnesota Wild.

Congratulations to our MS/HS Students of the Month for November!

We appreciate the Minnesota Wild for hosting our assembly, which emphasized fitness/movement and positive decision-making. We are grateful for the floor hockey equipment donation and thrilled to have hosted Natalie Darwitz, Stephane Veilleux, MC Rusty, and Nordy. Of course, the primary students had to spread their own kindness and presented them with handmade buttons, 3D hockey sticks, and a giant thank-you card. Proud to be a COUGAR!!

This Friday, December 5th, the ZM Boys Basketball team will host a benefit for Brigida Smith and family when they take on the Pine Island Panthers. There will be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Games begin at 4:30. Come support the Smith family and the Cougars!
