Students in the National Honor Society brought in spring fun and cleaning buckets that were donated to the Zumbrota and Mazeppa area food shelves. Such a fun way for our kids to donate to those in our small towns!

One of my favorite days of the year is pulling into town and seeing our senior banners up in both communities! Thank you to both the City of Mazeppa and City of Zumbrota for installing these banners and helping us celebrate our seniors! I’d also like to thank the Mazeppa Lions club for sponsoring this endeavor. Exactly one month from today we will be formally celebrating each one of our seniors at our graduation ceremony!

This morning I joined some of our students and Mr. Albers as they competed in the SE MN Welding Competition, hosted by Local 6 Plumbers and Pipefitters. I addition to the competition, participants were able to join break-out sessions to learn from professionals, and visit with local businesses to explore various career opportunities within the field. Nice work, students!

Our Grand March will be livestreamed this afternoon at 4 pm on the district Facebook livestream.

Play Ball! A huge shout out to Mrs. Peterson and the 1st graders who totally crushed the performance tonight! Way to knock it out of the park⚾️!

Thank you to everyone who helped put on our Mock Crash event here at ZM. Your efforts on behalf of our students are greatly appreciated!

Happy Earth Day! Today, Mrs. Nelson's Class had fun making Insect Hotels. We 3D printed hexagonal shapes then filled them with materials from nature and set them up around the playground for homes for insects. We will be checking on them periodically. Also, Mrs. Liebenow's Class took a break to pick up trash around the school grounds!

Tomorrow (4/23), the ZM Student Government will be hosting a mock crash in conjunction with Prom Week. Please do not be alarmed by police or ambulance vehicles on site.

Thank you, 9th Graders, for helping clean parks in Mazeppa this morning!

On Saturday, April 19, Zumbrota - Mazeppa High School National Honor Society members participated in a Zumbrota community clean up and pool fundraising event organized by Tanner Jennebach in celebration of Earth Day on April 22. The group raised $570 in community donations for the Bridging Ourselves to a New Pool campaign in Zumbrota. Fantastic work!

Our Primary Cougars reached their goal of 4,000 Cougar Paws. We recognized this accomplishment with our teachers serving lunch, special treat at lunch and tattoos. Good work, Cougars!

Senior/2nd grade buddies! Our 2nd graders are paired with a senior and have several activities planned, including walking the halls with their “big buddy” during the senior clap out. Awesome experience for all!

Due to the predicted weather forecast, unfortunately, we will be cancelling youth soccer practice for tonight (Tuesday, April 17th). There is no game scheduled for the holiday weekend, so we will see you at practice next week!

This year's "Instrument Petting Zoo" was led by a small group of very talented volunteers from the High School band. Students were allowed to move around to the different instrument stations in the room. At each station they tried to make sounds on mouthpieces as well as hold the different instruments. Although this is a recruitment tool for the band program, it is also a great time for the older kids in our community to connect with the younger students in Mazeppa.

Congratulations to Ann Paukert! Zumbrota-Mazeppa's 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year!
