ZM Responds to Crisis in Haiti
Moved by the stories of suffering after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools have launched a district wide campaign to raise money for the victims of this tragic event. Change Challenge for Haiti kicks off for the Elementary School with an assembly in the Neuman Auditorium at Zumbrota-Mazeppa High School on Thursday February 11th at 1:35pm. This event is open to the public as we are hoping to reach out to those in need from everyone in both our communities, not just from the students. The presentation includes a video with before and after pictures from Haiti. We will also give more details about the school's plan to raise money for this worthy cause. The Middle School and High School will be waging a penny war to see which class can raise the most money. The elementary school will be collecting change at their site as well. To get the community involved, special jars will be placed at local business and at Z-M activities giving people more chances to join this campaign. Please show your support by attending the assembly on the 11th, or by contributing at one of the collection locations by Friday, February 26th. All funds raised will be donated to the Red Cross.
